For over 150 years, Lesaffre has delivered consistent, high quality yeast
products to customers in many different markets. Our persistent focus on
exacting quality standards has taken us to a market leadership position in
all of the markets we serve.
Lesaffre’s Red Star® brand of nutritional yeast (Saccharomyces
cerevisiae) is grown specifically for its nutritive value. In addition to
protein, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals, it contains additional
functional and beneficial components such as β-1,3 glucan, trehalose,
mannan and glutathione. Studies have shown these components may have
potential health benefits such as improved immune response, reduction of
cholesterol and anti-cancer properties.
We currently service six different markets, all requiring specific
products. These include nutritional supplements, functional foods,
vegetarian foods, snack foods, sports nutrition products and animal/feed
supplements. Our focus is on continued research and new product
development and evaluating new applications for nutritional and mineral
yeast while focusing and listening to our customer’s requests for new
and innovative ideas. Our group also serves as a resource for our
customers when they need to solve complex problems.
