Where do leaders from the world’s private companies
and public sectors find expert scientific evaluation, advice and services?
They find the best advice at the Life Sciences Research Office, Inc.
(LSRO), one of the most credible and responsive sources for expert
evaluation of information and opinions in the biological and biomedical
sciences.
LSRO is a non-profit company that provides objective,
independent scientific analysis and advice to decision makers in industry
and government. In 1962, LSRO was established as an office within the
Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) a
coalition of 22 societies with more than 84,000 members, making it the
largest coalition of biomedical research associations in the United
States. In 2001 LSRO became an independent corporation based in Bethesda,
Maryland.
LSRO has produce reviews of a broad range of topics
associated with issues in biomedical and biological sciences including:
food, nutrition, and health. Thousands of scientists from diverse
disciplines including physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, nutrition,
toxicology, pathology, and immunology as well as clinical medicine,
biophysics, psychology, behavioral sciences, experimental statistics,
animal science, and the plant sciences have assisted LSRO in formal
scientific analyses and review, resulting in over 375 reports, monographs,
and journal articles.
LSRO reports are highly regarded as scientifically
objective, rigorous, and complete, and conclusions of its studies are
widely accepted. The studies conducted by LSRO have played a prominent
role in the decision making process at FDA, USDA, NASA, Army, Navy and
many other federal agencies. Administrators have found the studies useful
in identifying promising areas in the biological sciences for further
emphasis, as a basis for reaching decisions on issues related to health,
and environmental issues and in building scientific resources to meet
emerging agency programmatic needs. LSRO studies have provided expert
advice for our many private sector sponsors such as Procter & Gamble,
Kellogg’s, Monsanto, and Wyeth.
LSRO’s services include comprehensive studies,
authoritative reports, GRAS, health claim and peer reviews, risk analysis,
and workshops and symposia.
Recently, LSRO founded the Center for Emerging Issues
in Science (CEIS) to act as a “think-tank” to identify
landscape-shifting emerging issues in science and technology, and analyze
the potential effects on science and industry. CEIS assembles
international experts in the emerging technologies and brings to bear LSRO’s
considerable expertise in evaluating the state-of-the-science to help
industry anticipate and adapt to changing trends. Our initial topic for
CEIS will be Nutrigenomics.
We invite you to see how LSRO can be a key part of your
strategic future. Contact Dr. Michael Falk, Executive Director or David
Frumkin, Director of Business Development and Marketing at 301-634-7030.
