Lori Colman

Lori Colman is a founding partner and CEO of Colman Brohan Davis. Colman has been instrumental in developing brand strategies and marketing initiatives for companies in the food, dietary supplement and ingredients sectors. She is a frequent speaker at industry events, has written articles on brand positioning, product launches, channel management and planning, and has a particular passion for adding value to commodity-style products and markets. Colman is a firm believer in understanding consumer behavior and putting customers at the core of all marketing and communications decisions.

Mike Greene

Mike Greene is vice president of government relations for the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), and has worked on a variety of key legislative initiatives for the dietary supplement industry. Greene joined CRN in 2000, and currently oversees the association’s federal and state legislative and political activities. He has more than 18 years of government affairs, political and broadcast communication experience. He began his career in television at the ABC affiliate in Miami directing and producing news and promotions in one of the nation’s busiest media markets. In 1994, Greene moved to Washington, DC to work for Sen. Tom Harkin on the Subcommittee on Disability Policy, and closed out his six-year stint on Capitol Hill serving as communications director for Rep. John D. Dingell, the Dean of the House of Representatives. Greene received a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and political geography from Florida State University.

Mark A. LeDoux, J.D.

Mark A. LeDoux, J.D., is founder, CEO and chairman of Natural Alternatives International Inc. (NAI), a firm engaged in the research, design and development of nutritional supplement programs and products for large, multinational clients. With 35 years of experience since joining the nutritional supplements industry, LeDoux is considered a highly regarded leader and spokesperson for the dietary supplements industry. LeDoux is chairman of the board of directors of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), where he represents NAI’s ongoing commitment to industry and government affairs, adherence to a strong code of ethics, and continuing support in the legislative, regulatory and public affairs arenas. A graduate of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, LeDoux received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. LeDoux is also a graduate of Stanford University’s Program for Small Business Executives.

John Siefert

John Siefert is CEO of Virgo Publishing LLC . He is the former senior vice president and publisher of InformationWeek Business Technology Network at United Business Media TechWeb. During Siefert’s 15 year tenure at UBM, he was instrumental in guiding the business through a major transformation to digital media. He led InformationWeek and nine other leading editorial brands and was responsible for the strategic direction, growth strategy and evolution of a multifaceted online, print, event and services network covering the corporate technology market. Siefert also served in various other roles during his tenure at UBM, formerly known as CMP Media, including group publisher of Network Computing and national director, sales and market development of Network Computing Enterprise Architecture Group.

Bruce A. Silverglade, J.D.

Bruce A. Silverglade, J.D., is a principal with the Washington, DC, law firm of Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Bode Matz PC, where he works on devising creative solutions to regulatory and legislative controversies involving food labeling, advertising, safety and nutrition policy, on both the national and international levels. Until November 2010, Silverglade was director of legal affairs at the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a nonprofit consumer advocacy organization. He has served as lead counsel in U.S. Court of Appeals cases challenging arbitrary and capricious actions by regulatory agencies, represented the interests of the public health community before Congress on more than 25 occasions, and organized a bipartisan coalition effort by medical and consumer organizations that culminated in the enactment of the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990 (NLEA). Prior to joining CSPI, Silverglade worked as a trial attorney at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). He received his bachelor's of arts degree, cum laude, in political science from the University of Illinois and his juris doctorate from Boston College.

Steven Stralser, Ph.D.

Steven Stralser, Ph.D., is a clinical professor of entrepreneurship in Thunderbird School of Global Management’s Walker Center for Global Entrepreneurship, where he and his colleagues advance the practice of entrepreneurship through innovation and creativity, family enterprise, sustainability, women entrepreneurship in developing countries, global enterprise, global intrapreneurship, starting and growing a business, and corporate venturing. With more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, Dr. Stralser has held high-level marketing and consulting positions in business, industry and non-profit organizations. Prior to joining the faculty at Thunderbird in 2000, Dr. Stralser taught marketing and marketing strategy at the University of Michigan. He was an adjunct professor of marketing and entrepreneurship at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management from 1996 to 2000. Dr. Stralser was a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Eastern Europe in 1999, teaching marketing management in the MBA program at Budapest University of Economic Sciences, as well as entrepreneurship coursework at the University of Miskolc. He earned his doctorate at the University of Michigan, his master’s of business administration from Arizona State University and his bachelor’s of science in marketing from the University of Arizona.

David T. Thibodeau

David T. Thibodeau is a managing partner with PCGInvestors. He is a seasoned corporate finance executive within the healthy living and wellness industry, with a successful history of entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, merger and acquisition advice, and equity financing experience. Thibodeau was an early player in the healthy living sector where he has developed a particular expertise over the last 25 years.

Travis T. Tygart

Travis T. Tygart is CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the agency responsible for anti-doping education, testing and results management in the United States for Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Tygart has surfaced as a world leader in the anti-doping movement. His leadership includes significant education and research initiatives in support of protecting the health and safety of clean athletes and the integrity of sport. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and with a juris doctorate from Southern Methodist University, Order of the Coif, Tygart was previously an associate in a sports law practice working with athletes and national sport entities.

Marc S. Ullman, Esq.

Marc S. Ullman, Esq., partner at Ullman, Shapiro & Ullman LLP, represents clients in matters relating to FDA and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) matters, regulatory issues, FTC proceedings and litigation. His practice includes representation relating to FDA compliance including labels, labeling, claims, good manufacturing practices, as well as a number of complex proceedings with the FDA relating to the agency’s powers under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994. Since 2007, Ullman has assisted clients at the center of the “Pet Food Recall” connected with the adulteration of wheat gluten with melamine, the recall of StarCaps Dietary Supplements following the suspension of several NFL players whose drug screening tests indicated the presence of undeclared prescription drugs in the product, and one of the companies conducting a major recall of pistachios due to potential contamination with salmonella.

John P. Venardos

John P. Venardos, senior vice president, worldwide regulatory, government and industry affairs, Herbalife, leads a team of seasoned professionals who proactively represent the company with regulators and elected officials in 63 countries where the company’s independent distributors conduct business. Venardos is a member of the executive committee and board of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and is a founding board member of the Coalition to Preserve DSHEA. He represents Herbalife on the boards of the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance (DSEA), as well as the Natural Products Association (NPA), and is active with the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA), the U.S. Direct Selling Association (USDSA), the International Alliance of Dietary Supplement Associations (IADSA), and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). Venardos joined Herbalife in 1997. Prior to Herbalife, he spent nearly 10 years working with Pfizer in New York, where he handled global government and regulatory affairs for food ingredients and pharmaceuticals.

Peter Zambetti

Peter Zambetti is senior manager, global business development for dietary supplements at Capsugel, and chairman of the International Alliance of Dietary Supplement Associations (IADSA). Before coming to Capsugel, Zambetti was the director of sales of microencapsulated food and dietary supplement ingredients for Balchem Encapsulates. Prior to his role there, Zambetti served in several capacities at Roche Vitamins Inc. During his 13 years at Roche, Zambetti managed the food division sales force and headed up business development strategies for their industrial and agricultural products group. At Capsugel, Zambetti’s responsibilities include facilitating global outreach efforts and working with local business development managers to identify new market opportunities.
