Lonza is a leading manufacturer of L-Carnitine, sold
under the brand name Carnipure™. This vitamin-like substance
enables the generation of energy from fat. Due to a unique
manufacturing process, Lonza is the only manufacturer
capable of producing L-Carnitine in a similar way to nature.
The Carnipure™ logo is a sign of this quality assurance. L-Carnitine
is found in infant formulas, multivitamins and a wide
variety of health products. Carnipure™ tartrate (U.S. Patent
5,073,376) and Carnipure™ crystalline from Lonza are self
affirmed GRAS for use in conventional foods as a dietary
source of L-Carnitine.
Lonza is also the leading producer of niacin and
niacinamide for food fortification, animal feed,
multivitamin supplementation and pharmaceutical
applications. Nicotinates (Vitamin B3) are essential
vitamins available in the form of Niacin (Nicotinic Acid)
and Niacinamide. Niacin is also used to maintain healthy
cholesterol levels.
Lonza offers FiberAid® prebiotic, a naturally occurring
water soluble polysaccharide. FiberAid® is produced
exclusively by Lonza using a patented water-based,
solvent-free manufacturing process. FiberAid® is a soluble
prebiotic fiber that has a beneficial impact on the
gastrointestinal system. FiberAid®’s beneficial properties
such as high solubility, pH/temperature stability and low
sensory impact make it easy to formulate into a wide variety
of applications. FiberAid® is certified Kosher and GRAS
affirmed for foods and dietary supplements without
limitations.
Another addition to Lonza’s portfolio is ResistAid™, an
all natural, multifunctional product from bark and wood of
Larch trees. ResistAid™ consists of the soluble
polysaccharide arabinogalactan and bioactive flavonoids,
which helps support healthy immune function and has
antioxidant capacity.
